Works to create a Kościuszko Museum are in progress
A project: The creation of a Kościuszko Museum with a permanent exhibition titled “Kościuszko – a Hero for Our Times” within Bastion V of Fort no. 2 Kościuszko and an educational route on the Kościuszko Mound in Krakow with adjustments for persons with disabilities”, executed with financing from the European Regional Development Fund within the scope Operational Programme 2014 – 2020 for the Małopolska Region.
The project’s aim is to increase the appeal and improve the competitiveness of the region by creating a modern narrative Kościuszko Museum with a permanent exhibition entitled “Kościuszko – a Hero for Our Times” within Bastion V of Fort no. 2 Kościuszko, and an educational route on the Kościuszko Mound with adjustments for the needs of persons with disabilities.
The project will result in launching a modern narrative Kościuszko Museum within Bastion V and its adjacent inner yard. The scope of the project will include renovation and rebuilding of Bastion V and topping the yard with a glass roof in order to make these structures adaptable for cultural and tourist-related purposes, including exhibition space, as well as a tourist route adjusted to the needs of persons with disabilities and the reconstruction of the historical gates and decks of Fort no. 2 Kościuszko.
The total cost of the project, as specified in the funding agreement, will be PLN 13 580 174,36.
Subsidies form European Funds will total PLN 6 270 181,63.
The project is co-financed by the National Fund for Revalorisation of Krakow’s Monuments.
