Who will create the most interesting exhibition on Tadeusz Kościuszko?

The President of the Kościuszko Mound Committee in Krakow, Professor Mieczysław Rokosz, has announced a contest for the best design and execution of a permanent exhibition entitled ‘Kościuszko – a Hero for Our Times’. The exhibition will be a part of the newly formed Kościuszko Museum at the feet of the Kościuszko Mound. The museum will be open to the public from the autumn of 2019.

The exhibition will be created based on a script by Michał Niezabitowski, the curator of the Committee’s collection, a graphic design by dr Łukasz Sarnat, and a list of exhibits compiled by Piotr Hapanowicz, a Committee member.

According to the fundamental goals outlined by the script writer, the exhibition devoted to Tadeusz Kościuszko is to inform us about a universal, timeless hero – a symbol of continuity of the Polish state and nation, a defender of freedom, an acknowledged international reputation, a friend of mankind and a man who put service before his personal happiness.

The company that will create the exhibition will be selected through a contest. In order to participate, you need to complete an application for participation in the contest and deliver it to our offices no later than 13 April 2018 at 12:00 a.m. Companies fulfilling the formal criteria, as defined in the contest rules and regulations, will be invited to take part in the next stage. The deadline for handing in the contest projects is 11 June 2018 at 12:00 a.m.

The winning project will be selected by the contest jury comprised of, among others, Professor Czesław Dźwigaj, a sculptor and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Such criteria as: the overall artistic quality, attractiveness and quality of the solutions adopted, as well as the budget, will be taken into consideration. The winner will be announced on 25 June 2018.
