This installation is located in Bastion V of Fort 2 “Kościuszko”.
The current presentation is the first stage in setting up a modern museum dedicated to Tadeusz Kościuszko at the foot of the Kościuszko Mound in Krakow. The presentation provides glimpses of our hero's biography, from his birth in Merechovshchina in 1746 to his death on the 15th of October 1817 in the Swiss city of Solothurn. Surrounded by original and reconstructed memorials, pieces of art and models we travel together with Kościuszko, through all of the stages of his life: The American Revolutionary War (1777-1785), ish-Russian War in defence of the May Constitution (1791), the Uprising (1794), held captive by the Russians (1794-1796), visit to London (1797), France (until 1814) and Switzerland (1815-1817).
A separate part is dedicated to the actions and traditions dedicated to Kościuszko in Poland and Krakow. His burial in 1818 in Krakow, the construction of the Mound (1820-1823) and other important events which happened on the Kościuszko Mound in the 19th and 20th centuries. The presentation is finished by the dramatic retelling of the Mound's renovation in 1997-2002.
